Business consulting & entity setup

Set the business up properly, then get on with running it.

You cannot run before you crawl. Most owners are very good at the work itself and were never shown the back office: which entity to form, where the EIN comes from, how the bank account, payment processing and books fit together. JWCAA walks you through it in the right order and leaves you with a written plan.

Why it matters

Most new businesses do not struggle with the work. They struggle with everything around it.

A good cleaner, painter, stylist or contractor can be booked solid from the first week and still be in trouble by tax season: personal and business money in one account, no entity behind the name on the truck, and a shoebox where the books should be. Nobody teaches this.

Jessica Wood has spent over 15 years running the administrative and financial side of businesses, more than one at a time, and she sets yours up the way she would set up her own: structure first, then the accounts and tools, then the plan for getting customers.

What we do

Six things a new business needs handled, in order

Business structure & planning

What you sell, to whom, at what price and what a good first year looks like, written as a plan you can hand to a banker.

Entity creation guidance

LLC, S-Corp election, sole proprietorship or partnership, explained in plain terms. We coordinate the state filing and help you obtain your EIN.

Accounting & bookkeeping setup

A business bank account, a payment processor so customers can pay by card, and affordable accounting software such as QuickBooks or Wave, connected from the start.

Business administration

For owners who have the skills for the core of the business but no time or knowledge to run the back office: invoicing, filing calendars, renewals and records.

Marketing strategy

A realistic plan for getting customers: positioning, messaging, which channels are worth your time in Southwest Florida, and how the website, Google Business Profile and print pieces work together.

Custom consulting contracts

When a one-time setup is not enough: on-call hours for questions and designated office time for the administrative work, with the scope in writing and the price quoted after a consultation.

Entity setup, explained plainly

Four common structures, and what each one means in practice

StructureWhat it isWhere JWCAA helps
Sole proprietorshipYou and the business are legally the same. The simplest way to start, usually under a registered fictitious name.Fictitious name registration, EIN, and a separate bank account from day one.
PartnershipTwo or more owners share the business, its profits and its obligations. Put the agreement in writing.Registration, EIN, and the agreement questions asked before the money arrives.
LLCA separate legal entity registered with the Florida Division of Corporations, with its own bank account and EIN.Articles of organization, registered agent, annual report reminders, EIN and banking.
S-CorpA tax election an LLC or corporation makes with the IRS, not a separate entity. It changes how owners are paid and taxed.Coordinating the election with your CPA and setting up the accounting software to match.

Guidance and coordination only, not legal or tax advice. JWCAA is not a law firm or an accounting firm. We help you understand the options, get the paperwork organized and filed, and set up the accounts and tools. Entity and tax decisions should be confirmed with an attorney or CPA.

Banking, books & the back office

Set up the money side once, properly

The usual mess is a business run out of a personal checking account with a year of receipts in a drawer. The fix just has to happen in the right order, with someone beside you the first time.

Business banking

A dedicated business checking account under the entity and EIN, so business and personal money never mix again.

Payment processing

A way for customers to pay by card, online and in person, with fees you understand.

Accounting software

QuickBooks, Wave or another affordable tool, connected to the bank feed, with categories that match your business.

Invoicing & records

An invoice template, a routine for receipts, and a calendar for filings, renewals and deadlines.

Published pricing

  • Businesses set up in a hurry, where the entity, EIN, bank account and books were done piecemeal, or not at all.

Four hours of consulting and advisory are included; anything beyond that is quoted after your consultation. Building a website too? Business Launch pairs with any BizWiz web package. Compare every BizWiz package.

How it works

Crawl, walk, run

Consultation

A complimentary meeting in Bonita Springs, by phone or by video. You describe where the business stands; we tell you what needs doing first and what can wait.

Plan

A written business plan and a startup checklist for your industry and county: which structures to discuss with your attorney or CPA, which filings and accounts, in what order.

Set up

Filings coordinated, EIN obtained, bank account and payment processing opened, accounting software connected. We sit with you for each step so you understand it.

Run

You leave with the documents, logins and routines in one place. Then you run the business, with a consulting contract behind you if you want someone to call.

Consulting FAQ

Common questions

Is this legal or tax advice?

No. JWCAA provides guidance and coordination: we explain the options, help you get organized and filed, and set up the accounts and software. Entity and tax decisions should be confirmed with an attorney or CPA before you act.

Do I need an LLC?

Maybe. An LLC separates the business from you on paper, but a sole proprietorship, partnership or S-Corp election can each be the better fit depending on risk, partners, income and plans. We explain each in practice; you confirm the choice with an attorney or CPA.

My business is already open. Can you still help?

Yes. If the business was set up in a hurry, with money mixed, no entity behind the name or books that never got started, Business Launch is designed to straighten it out: what exists, what is missing and what to fix first.

What is in the written business plan?

Your business model, the market and customers you are going after, your pricing and specific goals for the first year. Short enough to read in one sitting, clear enough to hand to a banker, a partner or a landlord.

Which accounting software do you recommend?

For most small businesses an affordable option such as QuickBooks or Wave does the job. We help you choose based on how you get paid and what your CPA prefers, then connect the bank feed and set up the categories.

How is consulting priced?

BizWiz Business Launch is a published $1,299 with four hours of consulting and advisory included. On-call hours and designated office time under a custom consulting contract are quoted in writing after a consultation. Every project takes a 50% deposit to start, balance at completion, and invoices are paid through Square.
